I just came across the Book Giveaway Carnival today, so I'm a little late to the game. But it's the perfect opportunity for me to host my first giveaway, get some great book recommendations and maybe even gain some subscribers/followers to my creation still in progress (this blog).

I love books and to just list one of my favorites would really be hard. But for now--I love Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. Also I'm reading The Ghost by Danielle Steel and am enjoying it.

My favorite book (books) is by Christian Author Steven JAmes. The Pawn, and the Rook. They are awesome fast paced thrllers. The next in he series should come out this year, The Knight, and I am chomping at the bit for it!

Hard for me to pick a favorite. But I love Enders' Game by Orson Scott Card, Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman, The Princess Bride (a rare book/movie combination that are equally as good) and, as a kid, my favorite book was always Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs.

Though it's hard to narrow it down to just one, I'd say my favorite book is probably Jhumpa Lahiri's The Namesake. It has everything I love about great literature wrapped up in one exquisite package! :)

I'm horrible at choosing favourites - I really haven't had just one favourite book since I was a toddler (when it was Where is the Bear?). If I had to choose just one book to read for the rest of my life, though, it would be the Oxford English Dictionary, which has so many interesting things in it.

My favorite book of all time would have to be Deadline by Chris Crutcher. It's about a guy who has only one year to live after he's been diagnosed with a fetal disease and decides not to get any treatment because he wants to live his life out as normal as possible. Its one of those books that really makes you sit back and think. It makes you appreciate your life and all you have. This is one book that you will definitely fall in love with and it will make you smile/laugh/cry and soo much more.

Since I don't have a favorite book I am gunna tell you some of my favorite authors and my families favorite authors. My favorite book used to be "the upstairs room" but I forget who wrote it. We (hubby and I) like Anne Rice's books. And hubby is really into Stephan King, and my mother in law is partial to James Petterson. My mom on the other hand is like me and reads anything.

"The Cat in the Hat Comes Back" by Dr. Seuss, read to me by my son when he was 5, as he giggled and smiled and was proud to be reading the book to his mom...and I remember this memory as one of the best days of my life.
