I'm horrible at choosing favourites - I really haven't had just one favourite book since I was a toddler (when it was Where is the Bear?). If I had to choose just one book to read for the rest of my life, though, it would be the Oxford English Dictionary, which has so many interesting things in it.

Although I have read many books that I really enjoy, my favorite book is :
"The Cat in the Hat Comes Back" by Dr. Seuss, read to me by my son when he was 5, as he giggled and smiled and was proud to be reading the book to his mom...and I remember this memory as one of the best days of my life.
