Do you know if you're at risk for heart disease?



Most of us know that smoking, being overweight and having high blood pressure are all risk factors for heart disease. But did you know that having a family history of heart disease, women over age 55 and women who've had a hysterectomy or gone through menopause are at an increased risk?


I knew about the family history, but had no idea that age and "women's" issues could contribute to heart disease as well.

Even poorly managed stress can contribute to heart disease.

To help raise awareness for heart disease and give free cholesterol screenings for women in need Cheerios has partnered with WomenHeart and will donate $1, (up to $200,000) now through January 31, 2010. what I do to maintain a healthy heart is to eat a diet very low in cholesterol and fat! Heart disease concerns me greatly as I have lost my dad and several siblings due to heart trouble from age 5 to age 50!

I make sure that I watch that I have a folic acid tablet and the required vitamin b substances which help sustain a woman's heart. I try to get in exercise each day.

What I do to help maintain a healthy heart is alot of walking such as walking to check our mail (our driveway is about 1/4 mile long) and chasing my son alot outside. I also quite smoking over 2 years ago which is the most important in keeping a healthy heart :o)
