American Idol - Season Finale, Day 1
I'm torn.
Adam. Kris. Adam. Kris.
I think Kris did really good on all of his performances tonight. I think the judges were a little hard on him and basically wrote him off by the end of the show.
But at the same time I do think Adam blew him out of the water. Though I didn't like the way Adam sang the last song as much as I liked the way Kris sang it.
These guys have both really grown on me and now that it's down to it I really don't know who I want to win. Or who I think will win.
Adam because he's flashy and flamboyant and has this stage presence that just wows the crowd. He can hit amazingly high notes and he just screams ROCK STAR! Adam's got a gig after this regardless of the show's outcome.
And Kris...the cute Southern boy with the guitar. He's gotten increasingly better over the last few weeks and him being in the finals is something I never expected. The underdog, the dark horse...I'd really like to see him win it. But will he end up like Taylor Hicks? Or Fantasia? Or Ruben? Where the hell are they these days? Does he have the star power? Or is he just a pretty face with a killer set of vocal cords?
Weeks ago I was almost certain that Danny was going to make it to the finals. I would have put money on it I was so sure. When it came down to the final three...I knew I was in for surprises. And now I'm not so sure.
I mentioned in a previous Idol post that I always vote during the finals. That that is the only time I ever vote.
I didn't vote.
This is the first time I haven't voted since season three.
I'm not one of those crazy voters who texts/calls for hours on end anyway. I send in a few votes via text and I'm done.
I suppose I could have sent in a vote or two for each contestant. But I opted not to. I don't know who I want to win. They both deserve it. They both have worked hard. I like both of them for very different reasons.
On another note. I don't know if I like Kara. I think she annoys me more than Paula. Kara over emphasizes everything and when she does actually cheer for a contestant it looks fake to me. At least we know Paula is genuine in everything she says and does, as quirky and kooky as it may be.

I'm conflicted too. But I don't think I care too much either way. I think Adam has it in the bag though. We'll find out tomorrow but will have to wait 1 hour and 50minutes before they'll tell us.
I didn't like how Kara used the song she wrote to promote herself and her song writers. And she does over emphasize a lot.
I want Kris to win because he's the underdog and I always cheer for the underdog. Besides, even if Adam doesn't win, he'll go on to get a record deal anyway, that's how I look at it. I'm not the biggest fan of Adam.
I completely agree with you about Kara!!! I couldn't take her anymore, so last night I hit mute every time she talked! She tries too hard I think.
as I've said before...I think Adam has that star power...
but I hope that Kris pulls out a surprise upset tonight!
they both will have amazing careers regardless of the results.
Hmmm. IMO:
No matter what, Adam is going to be a star.
Kris needs the title "American Idol" more than Adam does, because, honestly, there are other artists out there that sound just like and have the same style as Kris.
