Bella Sara Review

I had never even heard of Bella Sara trading cards when they showed up in my mail a couple weeks ago.
Upon looking at the package I determined it had to be geared towards little girls as there were horses and unicorns and stuff on the outside packaging.
I asked my daughter, Autumn, about them and she said she'd heard of them before and had been on the Bella Sara website before but never had any cards or codes she could use.
Basically, it's a safe online world where you can create magical horses and earn credits (horseshoes) to buy things for their cottages. The trading cards contain codes on them that you can use on the website. There are downloads, games and many printable items such as posters and coloring pages available on the website as well.
You have to sign up to play on the Bella Sara website, which is free. But options are limited if you don't have any codes to redeem.

I asked Autumn to play around with it and give me a run down of what she thought.
What she liked:
- Creating your own horse and watching it grow.
What she disliked:
- Not many types of horses to choose from.
- Names for the horses are chosen from a drop down list, she'd rather be able to make up her own name.
- Not many chances to earn horseshoes for your cottage. She thinks they should be easier to earn.
- She thinks there should be more items to customize your horse and be able to enter it into contests to win horseshoes.
She did say it was fun, but she only played with it long enough to redeem the codes she had. When she couldn't earn anymore she went off to do something else and hasn't touched them since.
I think a year ago this would be something she would have totally loved, she's just too old for it now. I browsed the site myself and it definitely seems to be more suited for girls ages 5 to 10, maybe 11 years old.
Single packs of Bella Sara trading cards are under $3 at many retailers like Amazon.com
