Shelf Reliance Cansolidator Giveaway - CLOSED

THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED. A WINNER WILL BE DRAWN SOON. THANKS!

My pantry is a disaster. I buy in bulk, hit case lot sales and have a lot of canned and dry goods on hand at all times. My pantry is a narrow little pocket of space in a corner of my kitchen. I keep a stock of regularly used items in there. I also have a shelf in a closet downstairs that is full of food...plus a shelf in the garage. I don't have adequate space to store all of my food in one space.

This is the mess that is my pantry (in my kitchen)

I contacted the nice people over at Shelf Reliance for a product review. They're company is based in Utah (where I live) and specializes in food storage, rotation and emergency food kits. I don't know about where you live, but food storage and emergency preparedness is kind of a big deal here in Utah.

Shelf Reliance very generously sent me the Cansolidator Pantry for review.

Featuring SmarTrac technology, the Cansolidator Pantry is a front loading system that automatically rotates up to 40 cans. This adjustable, expandable, stackable system takes the hassle out of can rotation and allows you to organize cans the way YOU want. The Cansolidator is easy to assemble and guarantees a more organized pantry in minutes. Sturdy, compact, and reliable, the Cansolidator Pantry is the perfect stand-alone solution for any pantry.

The Cansolidator Pantry holds both small and medium cans. To determine which can size(s) you'll be storing, please refer to our can sizing chart.

The Cansolidator is super simple to assemble. The tracks snap together then you can choose if you want them side by side or stacked. I assembled it on my counter top and filled it up. It wasn't very heavy so I decided to just slide it into the pantry.

Pfftttt yeah right. My pantry entry way is far too narrow. So, I had to unload it, take it apart and reassemble it on my pantry shelf. Which was simple and only took an extra minute or two.

And now the shelf where most of the canned items were kept looks like this. (I threw in some random items on the top of some staples that I keep in my kitchen pantry. I definitely need another one of these as I have a lot of canned items.

You just feed the cans in through the top and take them out from the bottom to use them. Your canned items are automatically rotated for you...no more guessing, no more marking your cans.

I just need...oh, eight of them to get myself fully organized. LOL

Shelf Reliance also offers full shelf units or Ready Racks as they call them. If you have zero pantry then these could be sort of a "make your own pantry". Or if you have excessive amounts to store and organize then these would be perfect. In addition to shelving units they also sell emergency preparedness kits and supplies.

I'm already planning how I'd like to continue with my food organization process. I need something to keep my food in order and rotating without having to put a lot of brain power into it.

Shelf Reliance has generously offered to give one lucky Fairy Blog Mother reader a Cansolidator Pantry to try for themselves.

To enter this giveaway:
Visit the Shelf Reliance website and tell me another item you would like to have.

This is the mandatory rule for entry. If you don't do this then any extra entries you submit will not be counted. Any entries that simply say 'enter me', 'count me in', 'great prize' or anything equally lame will not be counted...or even published for that matter. This rule especially applies to "Woo Hoo make me a winner!"

Please make sure your email address is in your profile or you leave it in your comments.
If I can't contact you then you can't win!

They have a lot more items than just food storage shelves. I really like their AM/FM Solar Crank Radio and Flashlight.

I think I'd go with the pantry organizer that you mentioned. I always have so many cans and no really easy way to keep them organized.

Kathryn June 14, 2009 1:22 AM

I don't have a pantry here...but I might when I move! In which case, I'd take the big shelf system, because Holy Food Space, Batman.

Otherwise, I want one of these anyway :: http://www.shelfreliance.com/product/view/p401

I don't know what I would USE a food grinder for, but, that's never stopped me from buying something before. ;)

I could use the can organizer thing, though. I have a lot of cans. :P

Even for people who have a small pantry, the large shelf storage units would make them more compact and able to store more, so I guess the Ready Rack would be the other item I was interested in.

Oh I'd give my left eyebrow (hey I could just draw it back on right) for the food rotation system. Yes I am one of those ridiculous Mormon bunker dwellers that stores food like a chipmunk. HOwever I dont have the handy little storage in the cheeks thing down like the chipmunks so my storage shed is a mess. sigh.
