chicBuds Review & Giveaway - CLOSED

Ear buds, earphones, headphones...whatever you call them, you need them in this day and age. With all the mp3 players and iPods out there, even for your phone you sometimes need earphones of some type (if you listen to music on your phone).

I've been through several different kinds and brands of headphones for my mp3 player. Yep, I use an mp3 player. I had an iPod...I sold it. I just like my mp3 player...sue me.

Anyway, the earphones that came with my mp3 player wore out after only a few months. They were cheap, they looked cheap, they sounded cheap...they hurt my ears, they got tangled in my purse.

I then moved onto actual headphones, the wrap around behind the head kind. And while they were more comfortable as they didn't sit IN my ears, they sat on top of my ears which still irritated them. And running with them on made me look and feel like I had Princess Leia braided buns on the side of my head.

Attractive much? Um, no.

I've seen chicBuds and RockBuds on many blogs and I was given the opportunity to review both.
I was sent the White/Watermelon chicBuds which I was pretty pleased with, as my mp3 player is pink...so they matchy-matchy. They're adorned with pink Swarovski crystals on the reel and on the earbuds themselves. They're ultra chic...

I received Rockbuds in the Wings Like Eagles design. Same quality earphones without the sparkly, girly bling.

The first time I used my chicBuds I didn't read the instructions (doh!) and they immediately got tangled up. Because ChicBuds retract you have to pull from both ends. There are five stop points where they lock and stay in place so you can adjust them to suit your needs. When you're ready to put them away you just pull on one end and the cords wind up in the reel. I'm not going to lie, they still get twisted once in a while. But now that I know how to use them it's an easy fix.

Do they make my ears hurt? No.

I was surprised, as most earbuds do hurt my ears. They don't seem to want to stay in, but they don't hurt. I use them at work, while sitting at my desk so I'm not moving around too much...but I don't think they'd stay in place if I were running at the gym.

I also like that the chicBuds have a clip on them so you can clip them to your clothes. I love that they're not getting tangled up in my purse and I really like that I don't have to worry about getting a short in the wires because I've wrapped them around my mp3 player, etc.

All in all, I like my chicBuds. I think they're pretty, the sound is good...actually the sound is great compared to the ones that came with my mp3 player.
