Girl Talk Thursday - 8/27....on 8/28
It's 12:48 AM and ironically this week's GTT theme is "Dreams"...as in the kind you have while you're sleeping. Much thanks to Mommy Melee for being our lovely hostess every week. GTT will have a new home next week...I'm excited to find out where!
The first nightmare I remember having was about a tornado. Ever since then I've dreamt of tornadoes on a pretty regular basis. Always running from them and there are usually more than one in the dreams. I'll be driving in my car on the freeway and will see several tornadoes in the distance. I'll race home (which usually isn't my home) and hussle to get my family into the basement. A lot of the time the people in my dreams, be it my husband, my friends, my parents, even my in-laws never take me seriously in my dream about seeking shelter. I always wake up, heart racing and sweating before the tornadoes ever get to us.
Now whenever the wind blows I get creeped out that a tornado will hit, even though they're not common in my area at all. In fact there was one in Salt Lake, 10 years ago...I was way too close to it to get over it though. I'll always be afraid. My husband teases me, says that 'tornadoes are coming'. He really says 'tomatoes are coming'. It's kind of a joke...kind of.
I have had dreams about cats. That I live with a lot of cats and they come and go as they please through the dog door on my house.
I also dream about high school quite a bit. Mostly the stupid stuff, like skipping out to go smoke pot in my car.
Most other dreams I don't remember.
Tornadoes, cats and skipping school.
Man, I'm weird.

awe...cats are kinda creepy, imho.
:)
I knew we had something in common! I was in a tornado as a kid and the nightmares started right away and continue till this day. Same type of dreams as yours except that in mine the tornadoes talk to me to warn me they are coming! Totally freakin' scary! I think I'm gonna write a post about it!
I don't sleep much, and when I do, it's usually induced by Vicodin and anti-anxiety meds, so I don't really remember my dreams. Probably a good thing, as The Hubs has had to wake me up a few times because I have been screaming in my sleep. Scared the shit out of him... :-)
